It's a slow news day this Monday morning. There haven't been any huge announcements or groundbreaking court cases, so this post will focus on some general updates to interesting stories.
Donald Sobol passed away last week, the news was just recently made public. Sobol was the author of the Encyclopedia Brown books. I read these books as a kid and found them terrifically fun. They made me want to be a detective, start my own business and a lot of other fun jobs that turned out to be much harder than I thought they were at the time. A final Encyclopedia Brown book will be released this October.
Ouya continues to rake it in. The Kickstarter project has almost five million dollars in pledges and is halfway to being the biggest Kickstarter ever with 23 days to go. There are even a few games on Kickstarter already promising to release a version for the Ouya. Kickstarter projects for a Kickstarter project; the world may implode.
Finally, rumors are picking up about an Amazon phone. The blogosphere has reached the "mention the rumors in passing in a nearly unrelated article" phase. As in: the production of new mobile game consoles could be hindered by the lack of system memory resulting from Amazon's new smartphone (a totally made-up fact, BTW).
